With her smoky yet powerful voice and a
percussive, rhythmic guitar style, Sall Gibson is known to turn
heads and draw in even the rowdiest of bars’ patrons.
Yes, Sall is a girl, and yes she does play acoustic guitar, but that is where the similarity to most indie singer-songwriters ends. Drawing from rock, folk, jazz, pop and country Sall has crafted over 80 songs, some driving, some subdued, all memorable. With two independent recordings under her belt and three years of self promoted touring in Western Canada, Sall has the stage presence of a seasoned performer and the spirit and energy of a garage band playing their first gig. Sall’s credits: New Music West 2008 • FACTOR Professional Demo Grant Recipient (2005)• Recorded with band members from Spirit of the West (Simply Undone 2006)• Opened for Juno Award winning band The Wailing Jennies (Prince Rupert, BC)• Recorded two independent full-length CD’s and has sold over 2000 copies to date.• Booked, Promoted and Managed 4 Western Canada tours. This winter (2007) Sall moved to Edmonton (via Ontario and BC) and recorded a 3-song demo at Hwy 13 Studios. She put together the local indie - pop band Failing Esther and has both a cross Canada and UK Tour in the works for 2008.
